Make that 3 amazing stories! One of the ones that got misplaced a bit in the database hiccup was for me! *grin* Clearly, I am in good company as a Mercutio/Romeo shipper.

Now that I'm not about to fall over from sleep deprivation, I feel the need to rec:

Brawling Love, my gift story. Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet. Romeo/Mercutio, PG-13. Summary: "Why then, o brawling love, o loving hate, o anything of nothing first create?" Set in the Verona Beach of Baz Luhrmann's 1996 Romeo + Juliet, which I adore. There is banter and arguing and boyish scuffling, implications and foreshadowing, and all with a sort of sweet ache underneath. As I said in my comment to the author, it is exactly I wanted when I requested this pairing -- their interaction, and an exploration of both the entertaining surface and the depth of true emotion beneath it. And it exceeded all my hopes for it, to an amazing degree. I love this story beyond all rhyme or reason.

Rough Justice, a wonderful Treat. Gosford Park. Robert Parks/Henry Denton, R. Summary: A missing scene from the film. With confrontation and dominance games and rather menacing lust (warning for implied mild non-con). Fantastic voices. Short, intense, and searing hot. I'll be reading this over and over, I just know it.

Duologue for Would-Be Lovers, a second wonderful Treat. Mercutio/Romeo, probably PG-13? An actual Shakespearean dialogue between Mercutio and Romeo, sparkling and clever and fabulous, with a wistful undercurrent. There was much, much flailing as I read this. Fucking brilliant.

Plus, my recipient seems to have liked her story, hooray!

*expires of happiness*

Dear Yuletide Writer:

First off, thank you for being so awesome as to have offered a story in one of the rather odd fandoms I listed! lots of rambling -- please feel free to ignore, especially if you're already sure of what you want to do )

God, this got ridiculously long, and for that I am sorry. In the end, I guess the most important part of what I've been trying to say is, I like a huge variety of stuff, am harder than most to squick, and am willing to try almost anything. So please, just write something you'll have fun writing, and I'm sure I'll love it!

much love,
